Erdogan kicks off campaign for ‘Turkish-style’ presidential system

Erdogan has launched another campaign for a new constitution and a “Turkish-style” executive presidential system, Zaman reports. Erdogan claims he is not doing so out of personal ambition. Turkish opposition parties do not believe him, though, and they appear to remain united in opposing Erdogan’s plan for an executive presidency. The ruling AKP does not have enough votes in the parliament to alone call for a referendum on a new constitution.
