Embattled Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta survived a no-confidence vote on Tuesday, even though he is on trial for corruption, Reuters reports. Ponta is charged with money laundering, forgery and aiding tax evasion, most of which allegedly occurred during his time as a lawyer.  All three parties in Ponta’s left-leaning coalition abstained from voting on the no-confidence motion. Ponta has repeatedly defied calls for his resignation.
