The EU announced Monday that it would expand its membership negotiations with Montenegro to address tax and foreign policy. Currently, the EU is only conducting formal accession talks with Montenegro and Turkey. Membership negotiations with Serbia could begin this year if Belgrade begins to normalize its relations with Kosovo. The EU has stated that it will not grant any country membership in the next five years.
