Russia’s floating power plant branded ‘nuclear Titanic’ sets sail on controversial first voyage

Much to the chagrin of environmentalists, Russia has released a floating nuclear plant from Saint Petersburg, which will be towed through the Baltic Sea to a base in Murmansk, the Independent reports. Then in summer 2019, the plant is expected be towed to the Arctic port of Pevek. The nuclear plant is designed to produce power in remote regions of Russia’s extreme north and far east.
